The 2011 Mississippi spring flood reminded us about John McPhee control of nature stating thst the river wants to take another path already.

The old river control structure does everything it can to avoid to hold the water back- for now.

The ACOE indicate in their own representation the  scenario for full flow at Simmesport, allthough carefully avoinding to mention the term “control structure” this scenario is just about the ineviatble failure of that structure.
